PET is the preferred material to make bottles for water, soft drinks, and beverages. PET is ideal for sliding applications. PET is very resistant to mechanical wear, has a low coefficient for friction, and has good dimensional stability. PET is less susceptible to moisture absorption and creep than POM. Its wear resistance is higher than POM but less than cast PA.
